WebMail Maintenance – June 25, 2014
On Wednesday, June 25, 2014, during the regularly scheduled maintenance window (5:00-7:00 a.m.), Information Technology Services (ITS) will perform an upgrade to WebMail. During this time, intermittent outages may occur. E-mail users of the POP and IMAP protocols will not be affected.
The WebMail upgrade will contain the following feature enhancements:
*If any version of the word “attach” is detected within the body of a newly composed e-mail and the user presses the Send button without any attachments present, users will receive a warning prompting them to add an attachment.
*Any folder, except for the system folders (inbox, saved drafts, outbox, attachments, junk, and trash), may be renamed.
IMAP Users will now be able to view their email.psu.edu IMAP inbox size.
*The WebMail homepage graphic will change to use the “Forever Stamp”.
Users trying to access WebMail may experience a degradation and/or a brief interruption of service during this period.
