Why Your Company’s Security Policies Aren’t Working

According to a recent report by CEB, a membership-based advisory firm, 60% of firms in the past year have suffered a major data breach – and don’t even know it. And just coming up with a new set of policies isn’t going to solve the problem, either, since the same set of findings by CEB show that 93% of employees have violated their company’s security policies.

“Security policies are written in a way that’s too risk-averse or not reflective of ways people get work done,” explained CEB’s Jeremy Bergsman. “That’s why so many employees are violating them.”
