Company gives away free data, so users download 1,841 terabytes

Australian telecommunications company Telstra made good on a promise on Sunday, giving mobile customers a day of free data as part of an apology for the outages experienced on mobile and Internet services nationwide last Tuesday.

Telstra said on its support page that it would not place restrictions on the amount of data a user could take advantage of on Sunday. Australians took this as meaning they should download everything in sight.
