Update: Penn State Access Accounts Upgrade with AES Encryption Types

On Monday, January 4, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. (15:00 – 16:00) the Access Account creation process will be upgraded to start creating new accounts with AES encryption types for Kerberos authentication.

Currently, all Access Accounts receive the stronger encryption types after a password change or password reset occurs. The upgrade will grant all versions of passwords with the AES encryption types. The newly implemented process is expected to be effective by the works completion (4:00 p.m. (16:00)).

The change is being tracked through Service Now – CHG0034493.
