Scheduled Power Shutdown at Telecommunications Building
OPP has scheduled an electrical services shutdown at the Telecommunications Building on Thursday, August 21st. Immediately prior to the shutdown, ITS staff will power down the equipment that will be affected, starting shortly after 12:00 AM (midnight) on Thursday morning. Upon power being restored, expected to be shortly after 1:00 AM, ITS staff will bring equipment online and ensuring services are restored. Services are expected to return by 2:00 AM.
During the 12:00 AM – 2:00 AM timeframe, there will be a disruption in the following services:
– Network, Video, and voice communications between University Park and all campuses, and other University locations.
– Voice and Network (wired and wireless) services at University Park – multiple buildings.
– UEN (backbone) customers without Redundant Backbone service, connecting to Telecom1, Telecom6, and Telecom9 routers. You can search by Campus and Building to see which router your department’s network is connected to at https://stats.tns.its.psu.edu/statistics/statseeker/.
Internet connectivity will be available for backbone customers at University Park who connect to a router not mentioned above, or utilize the Redundant Backbone service.
