Resolved: Wireless and Virtual Private Network (VPN) Authentication Issue
New diagnostic features were enabled this morning during the ITS Maintenance window (approximately 6:05am). At 7:45am some users began experiencing Wireless and Virtual Private Network (VPN) authentication issues in certain areas across all Penn State campuses. The affected Radius server was accepting new connections but not responding and the back up server was responding slowly to requests. At 9:16am time, staff removed the new feature from the primary Radius server and at that time the back up server looked acceptable. Around 9:34am staff restarted the back up server to improve the response time.
