Resolved: VMHosting Network outage

We confirmed that the outage on 10/17 was caused by a misbehaving load balancer. We rebooted the device prior to the outage and it did not come up correctly. It then started flapping an interface, causing spanning tree to block network traffic. Once the device was powered off, the network returned to a normal state. We disabled spanning tree on the switch ports for the load balancer and we are working working with the vendor to prevent this from happening again.
