Resolved: Friends of Penn State Authentication Issue

While investigating the cause of this issue, ITS staff realized there were a few issues related to FPS Authentication:

The first, as originally reported, caused various applications such as eLion, admissions.psu.edu, eCommerce and potentially some older Internet browsers used by some to have a problem establishing a connection with the FPS service. This was specific to one of the backend FPS servers and was corrected around 12:45 p.m.

The next problem, which started around 7am this morning while investigating the first issue, an FPS account authentication issue with another one of the backend servers was fixed around 10 a.m.

ITS staff continue to investigate to ensure all problems have been corrected and assert the root causes.
