Penn State University Park Network Infrastructure Relocation

Beginning on October 26th at 11pm, ITS will be starting a four week long project to relocate our core router and fiber facilities in the Computer Building into a new space where we can continue to grow the IT infrastructure to meet these growing demands. This intensive process will require us taking various fiber cables out of service in an extended maintenance window every weeknight from Sunday till Thursday from 11PM till 7AM. The project is anticipated to wrap up on November 21st. All services are expected to be restored every morning by 7AM and it is possible that services would begin to reestablish as soon as 1AM as the work progresses at night. All affected departments will be notified to the exact night of the outages that affect them so that they can notify their end users as necessary. Please be patient with us through this temporary inconvenience as we continue to improve the IT service delivery to the PSU community.
