Canvas: Vendor Maintenance – thumbnail generation paused

DATE AND TIME:
Maintenance will begin at 2:00 AM ET on 1/26/2019.

NOTES:
From the vendor – Our engineers will be performing a configuration update for the file service in Canvas this weekend, beginning at 2:00 AM EST on Saturday, January 26th.  The task we need to perform involves a one-time data migration, requiring that we temporarily pause thumbnail generation for new image files uploaded during the event, which may last up to 48 hours. Any images uploaded during this time will have thumbnails generated after the data migration is complete.  We will add extra resources at that time, to accelerate the generation of image thumbnails. Uploading and downloading of files from our file service, as well as file previews in DocViewer, will operate normally throughout this event.
