Update: Penn State University Park – Research Park Fiber Optic Hub Facility Renovations
The Research Park telecommunications facility renovations will begin next week. There have been minor changes to the scheduling of this renovation. The first week will stay the same, November 8 – 12. The remaining work will be performed Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23. The work scheduled for the nights of November 8 and 22, will actually begin at 12:30 AM the mornings of November 9 and 23. As promised in our earlier posting, we have communicated with affected customers individually.
Research Park Wireless, VoIP, and Cable TV Disruptions Anticipated
The first night of renovations, 11/9/2015 at 12:30 AM, will require a disruption of the wireless and voice services (1 hour each) and Cable TV (8 hours) service, in the following buildings:
The 103, 230, 328, 329, 330 Buildings, multiple Airport Buildings (General Aviation Hangar, Terminal, T-Hangar M), Animal Diagnostic Lab, ARL Test Building and Lab, Central Milk Testing, Centre Medical Sciences, Chemical Ecology Lab, Eva J Pell Lab, Farm House, Lubert, Merkle, Outreach Innovation, Penn Stater Conference Center & Hotel, Special Services, Technology Center, and Wiley Lab. Wireless only in Insectary, Horse Barn, and Beef Cattle Sheep Building.
The following buildings may experience a disruption of data/wireless, VoIP, and Cable TV services for the entire duration of each phase. Please note that renovations will not occur Friday or Saturday nights.
November 9 (12:30 AM): Beef Sheep Cattle, Animal Diagnostic Lab, Animal Maintenance Center, Central Milk Testing, Chemical Ecology Lab, Eva J Pell Lab, Farm House, Horse Barn, Insectary, Merkle, Scent Mediated Eco Lab, Turfgrass Pesticide Research, Wiley Lab
November 9 (11:00 PM): The 103 Building, Lubert Building, Outreach Innovation Building, and Technology Center
November 10 (11:00 PM): The 328 and 329 Buildings, Lubert Building, Outreach Innovation Building, Special Services Building
November 11 (11:00 PM): Lubert Building, The 230 Building, and Technology Center
November 12 (11:00 PM): The 103 Building, Lubert Building, Multiple Buildings at the Airport (Administration, General Aviation Hangar, General Aviation, T Hangar M), ARL Test Lab and Building, Special Services Building, and Test Track Office
November 23 (12:30 AM): Centre Medical Sciences, and The 329 and 330 Buildings
November 23 (11:00 PM): Penn Stater Conference Center & Hotel
On Monday, November 23 at 12:30 AM, there will be a disruption of the AT&T Visitor Wireless service within the Penn Stater and Airport.
