Planned service degradation to the Data Center Firewall service 3/13/15 in maintenance window
Between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, ITS will be relocating the Data Center Firewall (DCFW) redundant equipment from one building to another. During the move the primary equipment will not have redundant equipment to which it can fail over to. This lack of redundancy puts all services behind the DCFW in a degraded state. The DCFW service will remain in a degraded state until the redundant equipment is installed in the new location and all services are verified to be working. This portion of the work will take around one hour and should be completed by 6:30 a.m.
Before and after the move of the redundant DCFW equipment, redundancy tests will be performed. Moving of the equipment will not take place without first completing a successful redundancy test. This test is being performed to help ensure DCFW service will not be interrupted during the equipment move.
All DCFW services, including redundancy, are to be fully operational by 7:00 am.
