Resolved: Penn Stater Hub site Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Replacement Change Number CHG0045464
PSUIT – ENCS/TNS will be replacing the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system that serves the Penn Stater HUB site on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017, starting at 5AM with work expected to be completed by 2PM.
In order to perform this work, all equipment at the Penn Stater HUB site will only be supplied by EMERGENCY GENERATOR power. This power source will not have the benefit of backup protection from a UPS. The contractor will start the generator and transfer normal power to it for the duration of the work. We anticipate the transfer and operation of the equipment to the Generator power source to NOT be service affecting and users will not see any outage unless they have been directly notified.
In the event of a generator failure, Normal utility power would still be available. to transfer back to. If there is a generator failure, the transfer would not be seamless and could result in a brief outage until equipment restarted.
Services that have the potential to be affected include:
– Layer 2 and 3 UEN connections served from the Penn Stater HUB site and Router
– VoIP, Wireless, and Backbone services in the following buildings are subject to this alert:
