PASS Upgrade on Wednesday, October 5

On Wednesday, October 5, during the regularly scheduled maintenance window (5-7 AM) ITS will upgrade the /pass/admin, /pass/common and /pass/os filesystems in PASS. This will upgrade them to the newer features of GPFS 4.1. In order to perform this upgrade, all services that rely upon them will become unavailable during the majority of the ITS maintenance window, 5-7am. These services include, but are not limited to the following:
– PASS Gateways (SMB/CIFS, NFS, Secure FTP)
– PASS Explorer, explorer.pass.psu.edu
– The personal web servers, www.personal.psu.edu and protected.personal.psu.edu
– php.scripts.psu.edu
– UMG Manager
– Clubs Administration Console
– lists.psu.edu new list request form
– Personal web space request form
– Protect Access to COLA
– Keytab Generator
– some CACTUS forms
– Signature Stations

This change is tracked in Service Now as CHG0038636 and is a second attempt at the change described in alert-4247.
