Manually Enrolled courses can be requested in Canvas

One of the buttons on the Canvas dashboard where users can request course space has changed, effective July 13. “Request a Master or a Manually Enrolled Course” replaces the “Request a Master Course” button. As part of that change, users can now begin to request Manually Enrolled Courses.

A Manually Enrolled course is a non-credit bearing course that has student enrollment but is not connected to LionPATH. A Master Course is a course development area, and the content developed there can be imported into official course space from LionPATH.

To request a Manually Enrolled course, the user will first select the “Request a Master or a Manually Enrolled Course” button, then choose the option to request a Manually Enrolled course. The user will need to provide the course name; purpose for the course (whether professional development or University Outreach); and access account user ID(s) of the course admin or designer for the Manually Enrolled course (ex. xyz5000). Depending on which purpose is selected for the course, a drop-down menu will appear and the user will enter additional information.

The Master Course questions are similar (http://canvas.psu.edu/2016/06/16/changes-to-request-process-for-master-courses-in-canvas/).

The change to the request process ensures that the content and applicable learning tools are properly accessed and used in the actual course.

Requests for either Master or Manually Enrolled courses may take up to two days to be completed.
